LIVING FOR LEZLIE

A very long week....

November 11 is not just a day that is full of heartache, the whole week is.

November 12 is the day we had to see our sweet girl lying in a funeral home with all her best friends standing there crying, crying as you could never imagine. For 4 long hours we watched them cry. Then we gave them a sharpie and they signed the casket.

November 13 wasn't any better. It is the day we said what people say if your final goodbye. Not my final goodbye but more like I will see you again, promise. A day where we had to have visitation at a church because there was not enough room at the funeral home. A day that there was not even standing room. A day that the donut truck was not breaking the procession line. A day when the media tried to follow us. A day when there were just as many waiting at the cemetery as followed us there. A day that the football team played their hearts our for their girls. A day I prayed to make it to UMMC to see Mal before it was too late, I made it.

November 14 was a day we walked where the accident happened. Told stories, went through memories, cried, laughed, put up crosses and prepared for November 15.

November 15 is the day that we said what they say is our final goodbye to Mal. We also had to have the service at the church. It was heartbreaking to realize these two inseparable best friends were really together forever. It was heartbreaking that their best friends and classmates had to go to yet another funeral. Another heartbreaking day. But, we did it, how I don't know but we did.

Kiss your babies. I have a long week ahead of me and each day is filled with heartache over and over again.

Today, I celebrated with my new work crew and I had an amazing day. I cried on the way to work, I cried at lunch and on the way home. But that urban decay setting spray, its the bomb. I am thankful for the opportunity I had to be with the kids today and do my best. I am thankful the my work crew, they made today bearable and, I had a few others help too.

1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful."

The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart;  the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.  Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death.

Isaiah 57:1-2
