As the 4th of July gets closer, you know there will be lots of fireworks for everyone to see.
They are pretty and loud and sometimes, dogs hate them. And I am sure people do to, or some of them.
Fireworks can also be dangerous, but this isn't what that is about.
You see, fireworks can be a metaphor. Sometimes we, grieving parents, do things that others do not understand but to us, it could be something beautiful, something loud or something no one else likes.
Why do we do these things, well its how we survive.
Like all the crazy stuff I said I do, some may not agree with. That is fine with me because the only person I need to impress is not an earthly being. He is heavenly. GOD, that is the one that I need to impress.
I know that we are lent our children and at any given moment God can take them back and, it can happen at any moment to any of us. Not just select few. and not because we cheated on a test in 3rd grade. It happens because it is written to happen.
When we try and explain this, people frown. Instead of frowning or showing disapproval of what we know, try and ask us how we know or be a little more sympathetic. After all, we lost a child and we have the right to try and make as much sense as we can, if that is possible.
Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
