It can't happen to me...

How many times have you heard someone say that? A million.

I can't imagine how they feel after they lost their child, I can't happen to me. Well, that is so not true. I can happen to you and you and you and even you. Yes, I believe and know it can.

I never really said anything like that. But, I would pray it never happened to me. Unfortunately, it did.

I happened and here I am today, still trying to pick up the pieces and move on or, just get by. It takes time, lots of time. Be sure you know what you are getting into when you decide to befriend us, etc.

Cancer is the same way, my kid will never get sick. Then they do.

Never say it can't happen to me, it can.

It is so sad to think that we as parents have to deal with this but, it happens. It happens every day, minute, hour, second, etc. It happens to friends, family, enemies. It happens.

We as parents are not immune to tragedy. Your friends daughter gets pregnant at 15, it can also happen to your daughter or son.

You child gets arrested for something petty, your friends child can also get arrested.

Everyday children fight cancer, drugs, teen pregnancy, bullying, dying unexpectedly and guess what, it can happen to us all.

So instead of saying it can't happen to me, pray it doesn't and do the best you can to help those of us it happened to. Pray for us and, be there when we need you because, it did happen to us.

John 16:33 "I have overcome the world."

The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart;  the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.  Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death.

Isaiah 57:1-2
