This isn't a competition...

Updated: Mar 19, 2019

Let me change the subject for a day. Life isn't a competition. You don't win a trophy in the end.

You are not getting that spot in heaven because you did a good deed. Jesus doesn't work like that.

God knows your heart. So if you constantly do things to help others but only do these things for show, just stop doing them. That won't get you a spot next to the throne. Do things because you are a good person and you know that he has called you to help others.

Do not do things to make you look better, do them because you know that they are right, they are what God has put in your heart to do and, don't brag. The only people that need to know are you, God and sometimes the one you are helping. You can help someone without them knowing. Trust me.

I just get tired of people who make life a competition. You won't win a ribbon etc by trying to one up someone. You just make yourself look like the desperate person that you truly may be. Or, you like confrontation. I don't know but I will tell you this, life isn't a competition. This is not the NCAA final four. This isn't the Egg Bowl, the Sugar Bowl or the Super Bowl. If you want to compete, join a sports team but stop trying to compete at Life.

Lezlie competed at softball but she never tired to compete with friends. Why, well because she had a good heart. A good heart and God knew this. She would help anyone. She never bragged or boasted and she certainly never competed to make herself look good.

So, stop treating life as a competition or a competitive sport. You will never get out alive. You aren't winning a trophy and you certainly won't gain your spot by the throne if your heart leads you astray.

Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else, guard your heart, everything you do flows from it."

The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart;  the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.  Those who walk uprightly enter into peace, they find rest as they lie in death.

Isaiah 57:1-2
