Birthdays, usually a reason to celebrate. After all, who doesn't like cake and presents (ones we do not buy for ourselves).
Birthdays, a reminder that we made it another year.
Birthdays, a reminder we are GETTING OLD....ER.
Birthdays, a day to celebrate but also, it can be a day to cry. Especially when that celebration is for someone that is no longer here, a child.
This year, Lezlie would be celebrating the big 21. I know she would be wanting to do something fun. NOLA, maybe? But, I will never know.
So, what I will do, just like the past 5 years, I will celebrate her.
I will eat a cake and hope that I do not fall down the stairs because it is pink. Of course we will go eat and take her pretty flowers. She will be missed and she will be celebrated.
Birthdays, enjoy them and go to all the parties you are able to. Eat the cake. Take the unnecessary gift and last, take the pictures. You never know if this is the last birthday you will celebrate or not.
Luke 1:78 "Because of God's tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us,...."
